Hello,
I go by Lex Wallace, and I'm a visual artist from the United States, Colorado. I primarily work in a mode of Magic Realism, with an interest in the function of fantasy as a foil to our world. I enjoy utilizing this foil as both an emphasis to the recognizable aspects of my work, as well as a vehicle for my concepts and storytelling.
My Story
I have always been interested in art and knew I wanted to pursue it as a career. To get an early start while still in high school, I enrolled at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, CO, and have gone on to pursue my BA in Studio Art in Painting at the University of Northern Colorado. My early work has garnered support from scholarship opportunities such as a Loveland Rotary Art Scholarship and the Fred Myers Award for Excellence in Drawing and Painting from the University of Northern Colorado. I have shown my work in multiple public exhibitions in northern Colorado, and I have completed public murals for the High Plains Library District, and Sprouts Farmers Market in Greeley and Evans CO.
